There Is No Excuse For

Written by Pacdan

Shoddy AI programming. Actually, there’s a very good excuse…AI is pain in the ass, but my point is if you can’t complete a mission after 15+ tries (Avalanche in campaign mode in Unreal Tournament 3) because 3 AI teammates can’t hold down a node that you could have held all by yourself, there’s a problem. But then if you let them go on the attack and defend your position, they can almost never actually get to the next objective. I’m getting better in that we’ve actually gotten damage on the enemy core, but I still can’t win cause they always make an absurd comeback. I just don’t like the map either, every thing is a bit close together and things just tend to become a stalemate at the center node. And the Darkwalker is cheap as hell, though I’ve gotten better at taking it down, or just maintaining control of that node. That’s the other thing…if you have to defend the main nodes it’s way too easy to lose control of the east & west nodes, which can be damning since they give control of a powerful vehicle, but if you try to defend them an enemy will immediately come capture the center node. Ugh.
